There is a requirement to post messages from our website. I am using the below code for achieving the same.

http://www.facebook.com/dialog/feed?app_id=123050457758183&source =www.google.com&  link=www.google.com&picture=http://fbrell.com/f8.jpg&  name=Facebook%20Dialogs&  caption=Reference%20Documentation&  description=Using%20Dialogs%20to%20interact%20with%20users&  message=Facebook%20Dialogs%20are%20so%20easy!&  redirect_uri=http://www.example.com/response

Everything is working fine. I want to add a URL like "For more information click here - www.somesite.com". I tried to put href in the description body but Facebook does not recognize it as a link. We have both iOS and HTML5 application and in iOS, it is possible to put link in Description. So was wondering why javascript does not support this.

The below code does the same in iOS.

NSDictionary *propertyValue = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:@"[(www.somesite.com)]",@"text",@"http://www.somesite.com",@"href", nil];
NSDictionary *properties = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:propertyValue, @"For more information  click here",nil];

Any solution for this?

Facebook allows users to create two types of links: those that lead to other content on the Internet, and those that redirect someone to another profile within the site. Links that lead to another website will open in a new browser window or tab, depending on the user's Internet settings. If you create a hyperlink for a friend's name, people who click the link are directed to her profile in the same browser window.

  1. 1.

    Click inside the "What's on your mind?" field at the top of your Wall, or the "Write something..." field at the top of a friend's Wall.

  2. 2.

    Enter "www." followed the link's unique URL. For instance: "www.examplesite.com". Alternatively, you may copy and paste the link from its original location on the Internet. Click "Post" to bring up a preview and choose a thumbnail image for the link – use the arrows next to "Choose a thumbnail" to select one, or check the box next to "No thumbnail" to exclude the thumbnail feature. Click "Post" again.

  3. 3.

    Make the name of a friend show up as a hyperlink in a comment or post by entering a "@" and then begin to type her name. Facebook generates a list of friends who match your entry as you type – click her name in the list to select her. Your friend's name will appear as a blue hyperlink in your post, and clicking on the link directs people to her Facebook profile.

    You set up Facebook events to organize a gathering or conference for your Facebook followers. You can also link Facebook events on your website, which sets up an external link so other users can also see the event plans and dates. You must copy the Facebook page's URL on your main event page to post the address for website readers.

    1. 1.

      Open a Web browser and log in to your Facebook account. Open the page for your Facebook event.

    2. 2.

      Copy the URL in the Web browser's navigation text box. This is the URL you paste to your website HTML page.

    3. 3.

      Right-click the HTML page where you want the link to appear. Click "Open With" and select your HTML editor.

    4. 4.

      Paste the link into an anchor tag on your page. The following code is an example of an HTML anchor tag:

      <a href="facebook.com/eventlink.htm"> Click here to see the event plans</a>

      Paste the URL you copied into the "href" property.

    5. 5.

      Save the changes and open the page in a Web browser. Click the link to verify that it works properly.
