Connect Facebook and Instagram to Scheduling to track conversions through Facebook Pixel, enable clients to book directly through social media, and more.

You can connect Scheduling to Facebook Business Manager to access all of Facebook’s offerings, or connect only to Instagram.

We've merged the Acuity Scheduling Help Center with the Squarespace Help Center. This guide applies to both versions of Scheduling.

Connect to Facebook Business Manager

Connecting to Facebook Business Manager will connect your Facebook page and Facebook Pixel to Scheduling. You can also use this method to connect an Instagram profile, if your Instagram and Facebook accounts are linked.

To connect to Facebook Business Manager, you must have:

  • A Facebook business page
  • A Facebook supported currency selected in Scheduling
  • A business name entered in Scheduling

To set your business name:

  1. In Scheduling, click Customize Appearance.
  2. Add a name in the Business Name field, then click Save Changes.
Tip: If you don’t have a business name and a supported currency, you’ll see an error message that reads “In order to connect to Facebook, you are required to have a Business Name and a supported currency.”

Connect to Facebook Business Manager

To set up the integration:

  1. In Scheduling, click Integrations.
  2. Scroll to the Web Builders & Social section, find Facebook Business & Instagram, and click Set Up.
  3. Click Connect to Facebook and follow the prompts to connect.
  4. Choose the Facebook Business Manager you want for this connection and click Continue. If you don’t already have a Facebook Business Manager, you’ll be prompted to create one.
  5. Continue following the prompts until you’re connected. Click Done to finish the last step.
Note:
  • When you’re connecting, Facebook may mention Acuity Scheduling. This is normal and doesn’t mean there’s a problem.
  • If you need to connect Scheduling to more than one Pixel instance, use the Custom Conversion Tracking option in Integrations instead of connecting to Facebook Business Manager.

Disconnect from Facebook Business Manager

To disable the connection:

  1. In Scheduling, click Integrations.
  2. In the Integrations You’re Using section, find Facebook Business & Instagram and click Edit.
  3. Click Disconnect from Facebook.

How Scheduling integrates with your business page

The Facebook Business integration adds Scheduling to your business page in three ways:

  • a Book Now button in your profile that leads to your standalone scheduler.
  • the option to send your scheduling page through Facebook Messenger
  • a small scheduler in your profile

The small scheduler on your profile page, called Featured Services, displays up to three of your appointment types. Clients can click those services to book, or click See All to go to your main scheduler.

To change which appointment types are displayed in Featured Services:

  1. In Scheduling, Integrations.
  2. Go to the Web Builders & Social section and find Facebook Business & Instagram.
  3. Click Set Up.
  4. Use the drop-down menus to select up to three appointment types.
  5. Click Save Settings.
Tip: Because Facebook caches information about your page, it's normal for changes to Featured Services to take about 24 hours to show up on Facebook.

Facebook Pixel

You can use Facebook Pixel to:

  • track the performance of your Scheduling account
  • create Facebook Audiences to target potential clients with Facebook ads
  • create custom conversions to track specific actions or optimize Facebook ads
Note: Connecting Facebook Pixel to Scheduling doesn’t connect Pixel to any other parts of Squarespace, such as Commerce. To connect Pixel to other parts of Squarespace, visit Using Facebook Pixel with Squarespace.

Events Scheduling sends to Pixel

Scheduling sends these events to Pixel:

Event

Trigger

PageView

Visitor loads page or embedded scheduler

InitiateCheckout

Visitor reaches details form after selecting appointment type, date, time, etc.

Schedule

Visitor schedules an appointment.

Purchase

Visitor schedules an appointment or completes an order for a package, gift certificate, etc.

Scheduling data in Pixel

Pixel tracks all activity on your embedded scheduler and standalone scheduling page. It doesn't track activity in the Scheduling panel, including when you book appointments there.

If you connect the same Pixel instance to both Scheduling and a website:

  • Facebook receives two PageView events when a visitor opens a page with your scheduler embedded: one for the page itself, and one for the scheduler.
  • Data from both sources will be mixed together in the Facebook Events Manager. To identify which Purchase events came from Scheduling, look for parameters that show the transaction value, appointment type, or purchase type.

Test the integration

To confirm the integration is working, schedule an appointment through your scheduler. Don’t book the appointment directly through the Scheduling panel, because that won’t trigger the integration.

Once you’ve booked the test appointment, go to your Facebook Events Manager to verify that you’ve received PageView, InitiateCheckout, Purchase, and Schedule events. It may take up to 15 minutes for these events to appear. If you see them, you’ve successfully set up the integration.

Instagram

Connect Scheduling to your Instagram page so people viewing your Instagram profile can instantly book with you.

If you connect Scheduling to Instagram as part of your connection to the Facebook Business Manager integration, Instagram will add a Book button to your profile. If you don’t want to connect to Facebook Business Manager, you can add a Book button directly to your Instagram profile.

To connect, you need the latest version of Instagram and an Instagram business profile. You also need to be the owner of your Scheduling account.

To add the Book button, follow Instagram’s steps for adding a call-to-action button. When you’re prompted to choose an action button, pick Acuity Scheduling. You may be prompted to log in during this process.

It's not possible to connect Scheduling to more than one Instagram account.

If you’re unable to add a Book button manually and your Instagram Business Profile is connected to your Facebook Business Page, you may be able to approve the connection through your Facebook settings. Log into your Facebook Business Page or the Facebook App Store, go to Business Integrations, click or tap Acuity Scheduling, and choose Also connect my Instagram Business Profile.

Note: If you encounter an authentication error when connecting Scheduling to Instagram, change your Squarespace login method from social login to email login.

Disconnect

To remove the Scheduling Book button from your Instagram profile, follow Instagram’s steps for removing a call-to-action button. To disconnect entirely from Facebook, disable the Facebook Business Manager integration.
